Press Release: MCSO Arrests Juvenile in Possession of Loaded, Concealed Handgun

Monterey County Sheriff Deputies have arrested two juveniles, one of whom was found to have a concealed, unregistered, and loaded handgun on his person.

On Sunday October 6th, 2024, about 8:25 PM, Monterey County Sheriff Deputies conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle in the area of Sanborn Road and East Laurel Drive. The vehicle was being driven by an adult female who was found to have an outstanding warrant. Also in the vehicle were two juvenile males.

One juvenile male was contacted and found to have a loaded and concealed firearm on his person. He was immediately taken into custody. The firearm was found to be unregistered. The second juvenile male was found to have an outstanding felony arrest warrant for robbery and carjacking.

The two male juveniles were booked into Monterey County Juvenile Hall. One was booked for his outstanding felony warrants and possession of controlled substances while the second juvenile was booked for violation of 25400(a)(2) PC, Carrying a Concealed and Loaded Firearm. The adult female was cited and released for traffic violations and an outstanding traffic warrant.
