Monterey County Sheriff’s Office Evacuation Warning Issued for Boone Fire

Effective immediately, the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office has issued an Evacuation Warning for areas near Highway 198 due to the Boone Fire. This warning is in effect until further notice.

Road Closures:

  • Hard Closure: Highway 198 in both directions at the Monterey County line.

  • Soft Closure: Highway 198 at San Lucas & Pine Valley Road.

Residents in Evacuation Warning Zones G021 and G029, which are in proximity to Monterey County Highway 198, should prepare to leave the area. Be ready to evacuate if an Evacuation Order is issued. Gather essential items now and, if you feel unsafe, evacuate immediately without waiting for further orders. Ensure your neighbors are informed of this alert.
