The Monterey County Sheriff's Office has lifted an Evacuation Order for areas Southeast of Parkfield within a 2-mile radius of the Parkfield Solar Plant, also known as California Solar Flats, on the 92000 Block of Turkey Flat Rd.

At about 11:30 AM on August 30th, 2025, CalFire responded to a report of a possible vegetation fire in the area of the California Solar Flats facility on Turkey Flat Road. Upon arrival, they discovered that a battery at the solar facility was on fire.

Unified command was established between CalFire and the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office and a request to begin evacuations, out of an abundance of caution, was made. A total of 5 residences were evacuated.

Tesla Field Services Response Team representatives arrived on scene and determined that there was no immediate danger to the public. Based upon their assessment, they recommended that the evacuation order be lifted.

A Tesla Field Service Response Team remains on site and will continue to monitor the situation. Should the need to issue new evacuation orders present themselves, Tesla will request assistance from emergency services personnel.
