On December 4, 2025, at about 3:14 PM, detectives with the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office along with assistance from the Greenfield Police Department executed a search warrant in the 100 block of San Juan Road in Pajaro.

During the operation, Sheriff’s K9 Rocket alerted to the presence of narcotics inside a vehicle occupied by Refugio Del Campo, age 37. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed:

  • Approximately 2.6 pounds of methamphetamine

  • Approximately 0.5 pounds of cocaine

  • $1,700 in U.S. currency

  • One loaded 9mm handgun

“Our mission is to keep Monterey County safe, and that means interrupting the flow of dangerous drugs and illegal firearms,” said Sheriff Tina Nieto. “This successful search warrant was the result of strong investigative work and the capabilities of our K9 program.”

Del Campo was arrested and booked into the Monterey County Jail on multiple felony charges, including possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of a controlled substance while armed, and felon in possession of a firearm.
