The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control will offer a free in person training to all Off-Sale licensees (grocery/liquor stores) and their employees through the Licensee Education on Alcohol and Drugs (LEAD) training program.

The training provides attendees with practical information on selling alcoholic beverages safely, responsibly, and legally, with an emphasis on preventing sales to minors, sales to obviously intoxicated persons, and illicit drug activity at the licensed establishment.

This free training will be held at the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office located at 1414 Natividad Road in Salinas on Saturday June 6th, 2026. Training will be in Spanish from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The training will be provided in English from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Topics to be covered include Community Relations, The Law and Minors, Checking Identification, Licensee and Employee Liability, Intoxication and Illicit Drugs.
