PUBLIC ADVISORY: Mountain Lion Sighting Reported in Las Lomas

Las Lomas, CA — The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office has been made aware of multiple mountain lion sightings in the area of the 100 block of Las Lomas Drive in the community of Las Lomas. The mountain lion sightings were made by employees of a local water company on May 27th, 2025, and on June 4th, 2025.

The sightings have raised safety concerns for the community of Las Lomas. Out of an abundance of caution, residents are advised to take the following safety precautions:

  • Avoid hiking or walking alone, especially at dawn, dusk, or nighttime.

  • Keep pets and small children close when outdoors.

  • Do not approach or attempt to feed wildlife.

  • Report any additional sightings to local law enforcement or California Fish and Wildlife.

We urge all community members to remain alert and to share this information with neighbors and local organizations.
