On June 26, 2025, at about 2056 hours, the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a shooting near the Castroville Post Office. Two victims self-transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Deputies responded and located a possible crime scene in the parking lot behind the Castroville Market (10696 Merritt Street).

The incident remains under active investigation and no additional information is available at this time.
