The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a suspect after he began randomly shooting multiple weapons in and around the area of the 16000 block of Avery Lane in Prunedale.

On Tuesday September 3rd at about 3:25 AM, the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office began receiving multiple calls of numerous shots being fired. Deputies responded to the scene and upon arrival could hear shots continuing to be fired in the area. A shelter in place order, which has since been lifted, was made to residents while the search was conducted for the source of the gunfire.

The suspect was ultimately located and taken into custody without incident. This investigation is ongoing. Deputies and detectives remain on Avery Lane processing the scene.

THERE IS NO ONGOING THREAT TO THE COMMUNITY.
