A Monterey County Sheriff’s Office Deputy was patrolling the community of Castroville on Thursday, November 20th, at about 11:40 PM. The deputy’s attention was drawn to a vehicle that drifted into the oncoming lane of traffic and nearly collided with another vehicle.
The deputy conducted a traffic enforcement stop on the vehicle and contacted 21-year-old Mohanad Khaled Mohammed Nasr of Salinas. During the contact, alert deputies noticed a knife on Nasr lap. Once Nasr was safely out of the vehicle, one of the deputies saw the barrel of a firearm sticking out from underneath the driver seat. The deputy was able to retrieve a loaded handgun from underneath the seat.
Nasr was arrested without incident and transported to the Monterey County Jail where he was booked for violation of 25400(a)(1) CVC, Carrying a Loaded and Concealed Firearm in a Vehicle and other charges.

Un alguacil adjunto de la Oficina del Alguacil del Condado de Monterey patrullaba la comunidad de Castroville el jueves 20 de noviembre, aproximadamente a las 11:40 PM. La atención del oficial se centró en un vehículo que se desvió hacia el carril contrario y casi chocó con otro vehículo.
El alguacil adjunto realizó una parada de tráfico y contactó a Mohanad Khaled Mohammed Nasr, de 21 años, residente de Salinas. Durante el contacto, los agentes notaron una navaja en el regazo de Nasr. Una vez que Nasr salió del vehículo de manera segura, uno de los agentes observó el cañón de un arma de fuego sobresaliendo por debajo del asiento del conductor. El agente pudo recuperar una pistola cargada de debajo del asiento.
Nasr fue arrestado sin incidentes y trasladado a la Cárcel del Condado de Monterey, donde fue fichado por violar el 25400(a)(1) CVC, Porte de un Arma de Fuego Cargada y Oculta en un Vehículo, entre otros cargos.
