Press Release: Update to Pebble Beach Incident Where Woman Was Found Tied to Tree

The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office wishes to thank media and the community for assisting in locating a witness that we wished to speak with regarding the highly publicized Woman Found Tied to Tree incident that occurred on December 4, 2024.
At this time, investigators assigned to this case have been unable to corroborate the victim’s description of the events leading to the discovery of her being tied to a tree in Pebble Beach, nor have the investigators been able to develop any further leads in the case.
The victim has described the possible armed suspect as a Hispanic male adult in his 30’s, wearing a green hat and grey sweater. He has a tattoo on the right side of his neck with a word that begins with the letter “Z.” The victim according to her statements, was not injured, assaulted, or robbed.
At the time of the incident, the Monterey County Sheriff's Office conducted an extensive search for the possible suspect and were unable to locate anybody matching that description.
