An in-progress burglary at a local greenhouse facility on Tuesday morning led to a multi-agency vehicle pursuit from Salinas to Gilroy and the recovery of a large load of marijuana.

At about 1:40 AM on November 25th, 2025, a security guard reported an in-progress burglary at a local cannabis greenhouse facility located on Potter Road in Salinas. Three to four subjects were reported to be taking bags of marijuana from the facility and loading them into two vehicles described as a white Tesla and a silver or grey colored Honda. This information was broadcast to other law enforcement agencies.

A short time later, Salinas Police Department units located the white Tesla traveling north on Highway 101 at Laurel Drive. A pursuit ensued after the vehicle failed to yield and continued north on Highway 101. Monterey County Sheriff’s deputies and Salinas PD continued the pursuit into the City of Gilroy. Further assistance was provided by CHP, Gilroy PD and Morgan Hill PD and the Santa Clara Sheriff’s Office.

While the vehicle was being pursued in the city of Gilroy, it turned into a cul-de-sac and was blocked in. The three occupants fled on foot. One was captured and two were able to elude capture. Units conducted a yard-to-yard search of the area with assistance from Morgan Hill PD drones but were unable to locate the two additional subjects. A 17-year-old male juvenile was arrested and booked into Monterey County Juvenile Hall for multiple charges related to this incident.

Deputies discovered a large load of marijuana in the Tesla being driven by the subjects. It was also determined that the second vehicle involved in this incident crashed into a ditch in the area of Highway 101 and Gould Road.

This is an ongoing investigation. Monterey County Sheriff’s detectives are asking the public to contact us with any information that could assist us in identifying the additional suspects.
