The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office held a press conference today to announce the arrest of 58-year-old Anastacio Ramos Rubio of Salinas for committing sexually related crimes while providing massage services.

The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the family member of a victim who had reported her mother had been touched inappropriately while receiving a massage from Rubio at a private residence on the 1000-Block of Fontes Lane in the Boronda area of Salinas.

The victim had learned of Mr. Rubio’s services after speaking to an unknown woman at a local grocery store.

Our victim reported that while she received massage services from Mr. Rubio, he injected her with an unknown substance that he stated would help her relax. He also provided the victim with unknown type pills.

On July 25th, 2025, at about 1:00 PM, Monterey County Sheriff’s Deputies served a search warrant that was granted and signed by a judge. The warrant was served at the residence located on the 1000-Block of Fontes Lane. During the search warrant, Mr. Rubio was taken into custody without incident.

Our investigation leads us to believe that there may be additional victims who have received services from Mr. Rubio and may be victims of similar types of crimes.

We are providing the public with a photograph of Mr. Rubio, who is described as a Hispanic male, 5-10, 220, with black hair and brown eyes. He is predominantly Spanish speaking. Mr. Rubio is believed to have been living in the Salinas area for approximately two years.

Rubio has been booked into the Monterey County Jail for Sodomy, Sexual Battery and Unauthorized/Unlicensed Practice of Medicine.

If you or someone you know believes you have been victimized by Mr. Rubio, we ask that you contact the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office at 831-755-5111.
