The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office is releasing the identity of the women who died during a suspected murder / attempted suicide incident that occurred in the High Meadows Community of Carmel, California.

She has been identified as 78-year-old Barbara Lynn Geisen of Carmel.

On Thursday July 24th, 2025, at about 4:22 AM, a call was made to 9-1-1 by a male stating he had just murdered his wife. Deputies and emergency services personnel responded to a residence on the 3700 block of Raymond Way in Carmel. Upon arrival, they located a male and female in a bedroom. The female was found unresponsive with what appeared to be multiple stab wounds. She succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The male was found with multiple life-threatening stab wounds and was transported to a hospital for treatment.

This remains an active investigation.
