Press Release: MCSO Arrests Teacher at Local School For Sexual Assault of Minor

On November 7th, 2024, the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a sexual assault involving a juvenile and a teacher at the Prunedale Christian Academy located along the 8000 block of Prunedale North Road, in Prunedale.
On November 8th, 2024, Monterey County Sheriff’s Detectives were able to develop probable cause to arrest Michael Louis Moon of Prunedale, age 22. Moon was arrested for sexual assault of a juvenile student and booked into Monterey County Jail where he is being held on $1,000,000.00 bail.
During the course of this investigation, Monterey County Sheriff’s Detectives have obtained information leading them to believe that there may be multiple additional victims. Detectives are encouraging anyone who believes they may be a victim, either currently or in the past, to bravely come forward and speak to them.
