The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a suspect after responding to an in-progress residential burglary in the community of Bradley. The suspect was found to be armed with a handgun

On Tuesday October 28th, 2025, at about 11:00 AM, Monterey County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a residential burglary in progress along the 65000 block of Bradley Road in the South Monterey County community of Bradley. The victim, a female who was home alone with her infant child, reported someone was attempting to break into her residence through a window. The victim fled the residence with her child and hid on the property where she called for help.

A nearby neighbor responded to the residence after receiving a call from the victim’s husband. The neighbor arrived and made contact with a subject at the residence. That subject left the area.

Assistance was requested from CHP who arrived on scene and located a subject and vehicle at a nearby bridge. Sheriff’s deputies were able to locate the victim at her property. They also confirmed there was nobody inside the residence.

Thanks to assistance from the neighbor, the vehicle and subject originally located by CHP were positively identified as the person that attempted to break into the residence. 33-year-old Junior Trino Godinez of Pacoima, California, was arrested without incident. During the arrest, Godinez was found to be in possession of a loaded and concealed firearm.

The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office wishes to thank the California Highway Patrol, CHP’s H-70 Air Unit and Monterey County Parks Rangers for their assistance in this incident.

Junior Trino Godinez was booked into the Monterey County Jail for violation of attempted burglary, possession of a concealed firearm and violation of his probation terms.
