The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a strong-armed robbery that left two victims injured in Castroville over the weekend.

On 11/01/25, just after 2:30 AM, deputies responded to a report of a person that had been assaulted along the 10600 block of Merritt Street in Castroville. Upon arrival, deputies located two victims that had sustained visible injuries.

The victims reported they were walking to their vehicle parked along the 10600 block of Merritt Street when they were approached by three individuals. One of the victims was physically assaulted by the three suspects, resulting in injuries that were later treated at a local hospital. Personal property was taken from that victim. During the assault, a second victim attempted to help the first victim and was also physically assaulted, sustaining a minor injury.

The three suspects were last seen running from the area. They were described as wearing all black with black face masks and black hoods over their heads.

This is an ongoing investigation. The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office asks anyone who may have been in the area and witnessed anything to please reach out to us.
