The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a robbery that resulted in a taco vendor being stabbed.

On Sunday December 15th, 2024, about 11:30 PM, Monterey County Sheriff’s Deputies were called out to a report of a robbery and stabbing at Hall Road and Las Lomas Drive in Las Lomas. When they arrived, they located a victim, a local taco vendor, suffering from a non-life-threatening stab wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.

The victim reported that the suspect approached their stand and ordered tacos. While the victim made the tacos, the suspect grabbed a knife and stabbed the victim. The suspect grabbed cash and fled on foot. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male adult in his 20’s. He was wearing a red hat and blue flannel shirt. The suspect was last seen running towards Sill Road.

The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office is asking residents in the area to check surveillance systems for possible video footage of the suspect.
